We are excited to be expecting another litter by Tommy and Holly. The first litter was a great success. As puppies, they were very healthy and outgoing.  They developed into successful birddogs at a young age, showing great desire and natural ability for finding and pointing game. These traits were exhibited throughout every pup in the litter. They all had a productive first hunting season. This past summer we had a chance to work several of the pups from the first litter through our Gun Dog Program and enjoyed seeing them develop into fine young shooting dogs.

This will be a great litter for anyone looking for a stylish setter with an ideal mix of desire to hunt and a sensible personality that is very willing to please. We will post photos of the new litter once they are born. Click here for more information on the first litter.

GOODGOING TOMMY:

GOODGOING TOMMY is almost an exact replica of his father, GOODGOING TOMOKA.  It amazes me how similar they are in the areas of physical appearance and general behaviors.   We are excited about Tommy’s potential as a sire.  He is a great bird finder and very natural at pointing and retrieving.  His natural ability and personality have made him a joy to train.

GOODGOING TOMOKA was a prominent sire in our breeding program through most of the 1990’s and early 2000’s.  CH TOMOKA has had as much influence in shaping the future of the English Setter breed as any other dog in history.  Tomoka's ability to win was seen throughout the Shooting Dog trial world.  His ability to produce winners was seen throughout all arenas, including fine gun dogs, Shoot-To-Retrieve Trials and Shooting Dog Championships.  5xNATIONAL SHOOT TO RETRIEVE CH LIGHTFOOT DUKE, has 2 crosses to the great producer I'M OSCAR.

MAX’S MISS UNDERSTOOD (Jane) has a strong desire and great bird sense.  She is of nice size and very stylish.  She has proven herself as a producer, with two very nice litters, by GGI Tomoka and GGI Brannigan.  MAX and MAX JR. have both earned reputations as solid winning bird dogs and solid producers.  Both have sired many great winners.  SOUTHWIN MIKE has picked up the winning ways of his father 9xCH Hick’s Rising Sun.

GOODGOING HOLLY:

HOLLY is a great example of the type of setters Louie is producing.  She is very stylish with great desire to hunt.  She has tremendous intensity on point and strong natural ability.  These attributes, along with her sweet personality, make her a very exciting dog.

LOUIE is proving to be a great addition to our breeding program. He has a top-flight pedigree, while possessing a warm personality and an easy handling style. His litters are looking very nice in the way of personality and natural ability and it is even more exciting to see how well they are developing into fine young bird dogs.

HAMILTON’S BLUE DIAMOND was named winner of the ’97 Bill Colin Setter S.D. Derby Award and the ’97 Elwin G. Smith S.D. Award. In 1998 he again won the Elwin G. Smith S.D. Award, along with the Top Shooting Dog Award. He has also sired many great setters, including the Smith Setter, 2xCH High Mark.

HICKS RISING SUN won the John S. O’Neall Sr., English Setter Award in 1994 and 1996. His brother CH Skidrow Joe won it in 1993 and his half brother CH Desert Rambler in 1995. HICKS RISING SUN enjoyed a lifetime of winning major trials. It began when he was a year old with many Derby wins and placements, through winning his last Championship at age 10. In 1999 he was inducted into the Field Trial Hall of Fame.  SOUTHWIN MIKE was twice winner of the International Pheasant Championship (1994 and 1995).

DEAR ABBY is a very exciting and stylish dog to watch.  She is a strong bird dog with great natural senses.  Both of her parents are field trial winners, along with many other dogs in her pedigree, including THE TRESPASSER with 20 wins and BUDDY’S DANDY MAN with 10.  Abby’s sire, SAND RIDGE TONY won the 1999 Bill Conlin Setter SD Derby Award as the nations top derby dog.

As a member of the “Miracle Litter”, BARAKA and his littermates dominated the main futurities their derby season. Baraka was named winner of the ’89 Bill Colin Setter S.D. Derby Award and the ’93 Elwin G. Smith Setter S.D. Award. He also captured the ’92 National Pheasant Shooting Dog Championship. Baraka’s sire, 7xCH THE PERFORMER, twice won the Elwin G. Smith Setter S.D. Award (1987 and 1988). In 1995 he was inducted into the Field Trial Hall of Fame. In 2003, 6xCH Destinare, Baraka’s older brother was inducted into the Field Trial Hall of Fame.

Holly’s pedigree also includes Hall of Fame Champions TEKOA MOUNTIAN SUNRISE and BOZEMANN’S MOSLEY.
