GOODGOING MISS KATE is from our very successful cross of Sharp and Miss Kenzie.  This breeding was repeated several times.  Miss Kate is driven to hunt with great style.  She is a fun dog to work with and a joy to have around.  She has the same traits that we liked about her mother and grandmother, and is passing them on to her puppies.  

GOODGOING SHARP has proven himself as a consistent sire of outstanding gun dogs.  His offspring posses great natural ability, desire and train easily.  Sharp is an excellent specimen, with great style.  His breeding combines the best of the Smith and Grouse Ridge Setter lines.  THE CATALYST won the '93 Nat. Prairie Chicken S.D. Championship.  With the wild game and demanding cover, this is not an easy championship to win.  The Catalyst's great great grandmother, SUSAN’S LADY BIRD last won this championship for The Smith Setters in 1969.  The Catalyst also won the '95 Indiana Open S.D. Championship.   

7xCH THE PERFORMER won the Elwin G. Smith Setter Shooting Dog Award in 1987 and 1988.  His achievements as a producer include 2 TSDA winners, Fair Play in ’92 and Destinare in ’94.  In 1995, The Performer was inducted into the Field Trial hall of Fame, a crowning achievement of his great life and many contributions. In 2003 his son, Destinare joined him in the Hall of Fame. SANDHILL BECKY produced 14 winners, including 5 Champions. She is one of the top producing setter females in the history of the breed.

GOODGOING LUCKY LADY is a full sister to 3xCH GROUSE RIDGE STORM, winner of the '94 Grand National Grouse Championship.  Lady was a beautiful setter with great drive, style and personality.  She was an outstanding producer.  Lady whelped several litters with different sires, all with great success.  Her breeding is made up of the great Hall of Fame Champions Tomoka, Mr. Thor, and Flaming Star .      

GOODGOING LEROY “SANDY” was one of our sires during the mid 90’s.  Even though we only bred him a few times, we were very pleased with his puppies.  Sandy is a full brother to 5xCH Grouse Ridge Reroy.

GOODGOING MISS KEEPER was an exceptional bird dog in all aspects of her performance.  She had a tremendous desire to hunt, combined with great intensity on point, backed naturally and was one of the top two retrieving setters we’ve seen.  She raised 7 litters and produced strong natural bird dogs that trained easy.  Keeper's breeding combines the best of the Shooting Dog and Grouse Trial lines.  Her breeding includes Hall of Fame Champions Mr. Thor and Grouse Ridge Will.  Her sire, 3xCH GROUSE RIDGE HANK won the 1991 Elwin G. Smith Award.  2xCH STOKELY’S DIABLO JAKE and CH SPRING GARDEN KEEPER both won the Grand National Grouse Championship.  Both of these dogs have also produced Grand National Grouse Champions.
