GOODGOING OCTOBER “Tober” arrived at the kennel in the fall of 2006 from October Setters in Idaho .  He is strongly bred in the original Ryman line.  Some of his descendants trace back to the kennel in Virginia, were our foundation stock originated.  He also has strong ties to Warren Sheckells, Pinecoble Kennels and Walt Lesser’s Alder Run Kennels.  These are well known grouse dog lines from out east, which are bred in the Ryman Setter tradition.

Tober was aquired as a new cross for our Classic line.  He shares some common breeding with our current line-up of females, but significant portions of his pedigree bring in some new blood.  We feel this will make him an interesting cross and open up new breeding options for our Classic line.

He is a beautifully marked blue belton.  He has good size and a solid, square build.  Tober is also developing into quite a bird dog.  He is a persistent hunter with a close, easy handling hunting style.  He is a strong natural bird finder, who points with intensity and retrieves with enthusiasm.  Tober’s sweet and easy going personality, make him a great companion.  OFA excellent hips, OFA normal elbows and BAER normal for hearing, complete this interesting dog.
